      Yup. Other people need to design from and also build from so it needs to be accurate, with dimensions correct and also at a good perspective.

      Look at isometric, perspective and orthographic drawings

      If you’re not a very good artist/sketcher that isn’t going to be too much of a problem, drawings are made on the computer these days anyway. So your sketches by hand only have to be helpful to you.

      Drawing skills on CAD, making a clear drawing, is absolutely essential. Engineers all around the world use one standard method of drawing and dimensioning so that we can all work together when we need to. If you put out bad drawings, what gets made is bad too!

      But don’t worry, you get trained how to do full CAD drawings along the way. I got taught at University. My brother got taught at his City & Guilds practical course.
