Great question! I think we have initially and this is backed up by data collected over the past 20 years (such as global warming, contamination of rivers etc.)

I think now we are more as an industry and also a society, aware of our inputs and how it affects our environment. We as part of my technology team have to submit environmental assessments now to make sure we are following legislation!! Its not just about the engineering you see:)

I think we have certainly left our mark on the planet. Whether it is for better or worse long term is as much up to you guys as it is up to us, as it will be for you to carry on the work we have started trying to do things in a more sustainable way!

We’re a tiny tiny blip in the history of our planet so far. We have affected a lot of the life alive right now on the planet, I’d say overall we’ve done more to destroy life by destroying habitats and warming the climate, but I doubt there is anything we could do to either destroy or save the Earth forever. Even the big apocalypse that killed all the dinosaurs didn’t trouble the Earth much in the long run. And in a few billion years the Sun will expand and encompass the Earth anyway – if humans still exist then, we will have headed off for other planets.
