      they do! Politicians decide on how much funding departments get and they pay us to do our job. We have to follow politics closely

      Politicians come to visit our factory a lot because it’s in London so it’s a short drive and they can look cool standing near some people brazing. I’ve met David Cameron, he’s come round twice since I’ve been here, The business is careful to stay out of political allegiances because that could cause us trouble one day and is basically friendly to everybody. We occasionally tell politicians we want more high-quality apprenticeships, more engineers generally, and more women in engineering!
